I just stumbled upon the the works of Architect/Design firm Dufner Heighes via Houzz and I'm in love! Their work is incredible...check out their website for more of their projects (including custom furniture).
Children's furniture has gotten more and more expensive over the past few years and many people find it hard to spend so much money on furniture that their kids will quickly outgrow. Family-owned furniture designer/manufacturer, Muu, has thought of a few ways to remedy that problem, 1: Every piece from Muu's collection can be personalized with a Muu Panel that is attached with magnets for easy replacement, so you can update the furniture as your child's taste changes, 2: With the conversion kit, you can turn the crib into a toddler bed, giving you a few more years out of the piece. Not to mention the panels (which can be customized with your child's name) are adorable.
Radiators are usually considered a nuisance, an eyesore that people try to hide in one way or another... but these radiators make me wish I had that problem!
Icing on the cake...
Clockwise from top left: The Bag by i-radium, Hug by DAS, Silhouette by Daniel Ashley for Bisque, and my FAVORITE: the Heat Wave by Joris Laarman for Droog (of course..Droog is awesome) And if you can't afford one of these rads, the Natural Wave radiator plate by Byung-seok You makes even the old school radiators look cool (although I still can't find a source for purchasing it).
“A chair+ a (duck-legged) chair+ a chair+ a chair+ a chair+ a chair ⇒ a bench.”
- Jo Nagasaka, designer
Nagasaka of Schemata Architecture Office created this "bench" out of 6 chairs and a plank of wood (and some magazines in this case). So simple, yet so genius (in my opinion)... basically, if you have a dinner party (or any event) you can double your seating with just a plank of wood! I love it!
It used to be if you wanted a pet house/bed you had to go to some big commercial pet store and chose between tacky and tackier...no more! It seems like everywhere you look there's a new designer product for your pet...the only downside is the designer price point. Here are some of the many choices...
